Write A Sonnet Contest Entry

Through Arrogance With Love

by DragonSkulls

I beg of thee, oh precious writing site,
let not thy daily prompts be so severe.
Simplicity is all I ask tonight,
for few dare claim the role of sonneteer.

We only wish to challenge tiny goals,
as thought is rarely used for what we need.
We'll watch this prompt lie dormant as it rolls,
for meter is a task where few succeed.

But hopefully tomorrow's challenge wanes,
where many will not weep for lack of skills.
Please offer us a test that takes no brains
and sense of one's accomplishment fulfills.

The sonnet's way too hard when said and done.
We crave the three-five-three or one-six-one.
