Kyrielle Poem Contest Entry

Crafted Ruse

by DragonSkulls

Beneath the veil of crafted ruse,
within the ink I dip my quill.
Through countless paths that I may choose
I'll freely follow my own will.

I could be king or loving queen
beneath the veil of crafted ruse.
Perhaps a thief that hides unseen
or broken child with gang tattoos.

A temptress that so few refuse,
a soldier in the grips of war.
Beneath the veil of crafted ruse
I build the realms that I explore.

A pirate captain or his mate,
a poet lost within his muse.
I'm anyone that I create
beneath the veil of crafted ruse.

Writing Prompt
A kyrielle is made of quatrains that rhyme. Each stanza (that is a quatrain) has a line that repeats, so a line from a previous stanza. That line usually (but does not necessarily have to) be the last line in the stanza. Each line in the poem has eight syllables. There is no limit to the number of stanzas. Usually there are three or more stanzas. Any type of rhyme scheme can be used. More information and an example.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
