What We Created VS. Man

by Boogienights

Not long ago, when the war began,
that of what we created VS. man.
The world we know was brought to the brink
of certain disaster from robots that think.

How it happened is a great mystery,
gaining thoughts and feelings with a will that was free.
So much smarter than their human creators,
they're our enemies now, these robotic invaders.

Too late, a mistake we now realize,
disgust for us shows in their soulless eyes.
They want what is ours, they see us as weak,
weapons they wield, it's power they seek.

Built in our likeness, it's hard to tell,
their voices and movements are like us as well.
Except for a small mark that's too hard to see,
they look human just like you and me.

And just like us, in war they are cruel,
cutting us down with desire to rule.
They are winning, soon we won't exist,
no matter how much we try to resist.

Cities worldwide filled with humans cut down,
outnumbering the robots that litter the ground.
Blown apart, yet still robotic eyes move,
until the cells deep in their heads are removed.

Smashed then the part that made them so strong,
as we all ponder just where we went wrong.
Until came the day a new way was found,
a pulse was created that would bring them all down.

Transmitted through the air, electronics destroyed,
a way was found then this weapon was deployed.
Electronic Magnetic Pulse Energies,
brought them all down at once, as they fell to their knees.

The light of their sentient knowledge acquired,
dimmed and died out, the cells in them expired.
That which shut them down, shut us down too,
all power was lost, but the world would renew.

We lost, yet we gained, we know what NOT to do.
The war of the Robots and Man was now through.
Never again would A.I. have a place,
a lesson well learned by the whole human race.
