The Stag

At the foot of snow-capped peaks,
the majestic stag is at home.

Here through pinewoods, he roams
after a bout of autumn rain, alone.

From his mouth and glossy nose steam streams,
his thick damp coat gleams.

The heavily crowned head rears proudly
to bellow his love song loudly.

Herds of nomad doe near and far,
come to seek out the valley's superstar.
