Relief from the heat

Rain Dance

I woke up to an exciting day,
dark clouds were forming across the bay.
I knew a storm was on its way,
and soon outside I'd go and play.

I love the rain, I hope it stays,
a lovely break from the sun's hot rays.
It's been so long, too many days,
underneath the sun's bright blaze.

I prayed for rain, or just a haze,
as I sat baking on a chaise.
Hot weather leaves me in a daze,
as I used lots of sun screen sprays.

Don't understand this tanning craze,
I think maybe it's just a phase.
Sunburns hurt and your skin flays,
putting you in a malaise.

But the clouds across the bay,
will bring coolness to the day.
Heavy rain is on it's way,
with lighting on display.

Thunder above will make us sway,
While we dance the heat away.
I woke up to an exciting day,
dark clouds were forming across the bay.
