Each wave seemed like a scary beast
that rose on legs I couldn't see.
Each time I looked its size increased
until it broke, swept over me.

But Grandpa grinned, then picked me up.
"The sea is like a friendly pup
who jumps on you but wants to play.
So go back in. Have fun today."
