Not a funday

Mondays Suck

Day Of The Week Contest Winner 
"Monday, Monday, can't trust that day",
these song lyrics are correct I'd say.
Not my favorite day of the week,
in my view, most Mondays are bleak.

For many it is back to work,
or mundane tasks we'd like to shirk.
The start of a long week ahead,
when I would rather lay in bed.

Saturday means fun filled times,
a lot of time to write my rhymes.
Sunday's a time of peace and rest,
of all the days, it is the best.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday too,
are quite boring I say with rue.
Friday was great in younger days,
but now I'm old, I've changed my ways.

But Monday's when I need to clean,
the thought of laundry turns me mean.
Of course, my diet starts that day,
like every Monday the same way.

Can I make it through Monday next?
The thought of it just makes me vexed.
If I pretend that they're not here,
will Mondays then just disappear?
