I wrote a song for you today
about how wonderful you are.
My lyrics spoke the greatest truth,
in darkness you're my shining star.

My music hits the sweetest notes,
to celebrate the life of you.
The way you move, your laugh, your smile,
how kind you are in all you do.

I sing it out for all to hear
in hopes that they will understand,
how glad I am that you exist,
how much it means to hold your hand.

I'm so inspired by the way
you care for others, give your all.
That's why I wrote this song for you,
you lift me up each time I fall.

The music in me would have died,
if you had not been there for me.
Because of you it still plays on,
your love creates my symphony.

Musicians write of moon and stars,
lyrics of life, and love that's true.
Yet, all the words I have inside,
the music is just meant for you.

The song I wrote is yours alone,
and when you play it think of me.
Remember always that it's you,
who finally set this music free.
