Dec Horror contest entry
The Christmas Trip

Every Christmas I take my son hunting. This year we went
to the tip of northern Canada.
While camouflaged in the snow, we spotted our first deer
in the distance. My son took careful aim, exhaled and fired.
It took off running and we followed the blood trail to where
it fell.
He was face down in the snow when we reached him. As
we lifted its head for the picture, we both gasped in horror.
His glowing, red nose flickered a couple times and then just
fizzled out.
Even though we felt terrible inside, Rudolph was still
good eatin'.
