I'll Show No Fear

by DragonSkulls

I sought in hope and found a worthy task
while witnessing the masses cringe and wail.
Would any dare to try just what they ask?
Could not a one have faith they might prevail?

The mountain far too steep to climb the peak.
They cower in the corners, veiled in fear,
afraid to venture forth for what they seek,
a fate that bares the wounds they claim severe.

But fear shan't ward the path I forge in want.
Let peasants weep among their sad reprieve,
and hide beneath a truth they won't confront,
that stains upon the values they conceive.

Perhaps tomorrow's challenge wanes in trite...
a prompt so simple little kids could write.

Write A Sonnet writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a sonnet. A sonnet is a poem of 14 lines. It follows a strict rhyme scheme. It is often about love. Instructions and examples.

Yeah, sonnets are hard to pull off in a timely manner.
That's why I like them so much, I guess. A shame not
many other feel the same way. Maybe tomorrow it'll
be a 5-7-5 or a 1-6-1. Fingers crossed.
