Insurrection?

No Way!

Happy Insurrection Day Contest Winner 
The author has placed a warning on this post for language.
An insurrection? Don't make me laugh!
It never was that, not even by half.
Exercising their freedom to protest, they came.
It got out of hand, but who was to blame?

Donald Trump asked the National Guard be brought in,
Pelosi said no, let the chaos begin.
It's just what the Democrats wanted that day,
they encouraged protesters to riot that way.

An unarmed woman, Ashli Babbitt, shot dead,
just what was she doing to cause them such dread?
People were put in jail, and they are there still,
just what the hell goes on, on Capitol Hill?

Before I forget, weren't there two years of riots?
They were called peaceful protests, please... don't even try it!
Cities were burning but nobody cared.
Media stories were twisted, no truth was declared.

An insurrection? I really think not,
but if you believe that, then give this some thought.
Had Trump been reelected, he'd been placed on the fire...
our country, would've burned like a funeral pyre.

I've had it with politicians,
with their lies and their shit.
Can we all start to heal,
and just be done with it?
