It Could Be You

Ther're days when I feel sorry for myself,
then I see homeless people on the street.
I know my lame complaints I need to shelf,
and help them out with money, food to eat.

They hold their handmade signs up in the air,
on corners as the cars just pass them by.
Pedestrians pretend that they're not there,
they wonder how they got that way and why.

Misfortune comes to us in many ways,
the future's something that we can't predict.
Thank God in comfort we all spend our days,
but what of people homeless, hungry, sick?

So many out there have a troubled mind,
as mental illness keeps them on the street.
It only takes a moment to be kind,
a smile, some change, a blanket, food to eat.

There's no solution that I see in sight,
so, we must help them any way we can,
and ease the pain of people in this plight,
it's only right to help your fellow man.
