They lurk everywhere.
He could have avoided the pregnancies
but he found some sickly pleasure in hearing the poor bitch
whine when he stole her babies.
Sometimes he'd drowned the helpless pups
other times he'd throw them out
like trash at the local dump.
Wary of life on a chain
one meter at best,
her fur was a tattered mess.
Heat and thirst,
humidity and cold,
she'd suffered them all.
Being hungry was a constant;
like being beaten for no reason
but because it pleased him.
Master Barns was a monster
whose daily highlight
was to inflict pain with his cane.
Weak, she was due
to give birth any day.
She feared he'd take them again.
Little did she know
he had grown tired of the bitch
and had planned to ditch her.
Under the cover of dark
he threw her in the boot;
that soulless brute chose a hidden route.
He chained her to a tree
giving her no way to flee;
that night she gave birth to three.
She then suffered heavy blood loss
and by morning heaven's bridge
all 4 had crossed.
Betrayed by dog's best friend,
she never knew a gentle hand
but now she was in God's holy land
Barnes thought he had got scotfree;
little did he know that the devil
was watching over him with glee.
Stay assured, folks, that
he'll pay for all his cruelty,
the flames for hell await him
for eternity.
