Proud Irish

by Willie P. Smith

Irish Green Contest Winner
My kin wore the colors
Of an Irish Clan,
Many long years ago.

Their seed now scattered
By the four winds,
Their whereabouts, I don't know.

But, on St. Patrick's Day
My heart always longs
For the land I've never seen.

So, on that day,
I'll wear with pride
The color of Irish green.
