i decided to write a poem
instead of work today
i have numerous things to do
but tossed them all away

for this requires a lot less thought
and effort on my part
i doubt ill even waste my time
to add a piece of art

i thought of sloth right off the bat
and figured what the heck
i wont even bother myself with meter
or do a spelling chek

punctuations a waste of time
its not worth all the hype
a periods more effort here
and one more key to type

a capital letter is too much work
its another finger to lift
besides the labor to use my eyes
theres a chance i wont push shift

i could make this beautiful
but whats a reason why
pretty font and colored hues
arent worth the toil to try

i thought id add another verse
to make you think im wise
but found i lacked the simple will
to even change the size

yes i could craft a masterpiece
that flows with perfect rhyme
that sounds so sweet and elegant
but who cares
