Want to go but I'm...

Stuck

by Boogienights

One Word: Jealousy Contest Winner
I'm jealous of what others have,
not possessions, money, gold.
I'm envious of those with youth,
now that I'm growing old.

When I see people motivate,
run and walk absent of pain,
just knowing I can't do it too,
is driving me insane.

I want to walk the trails,
take a rollercoaster ride,
sign up for a 5k run,
and finish it with pride.

Those who go where 'ere they want
when I am left behind,
brings out my green-eyed monster,
thoughts I have are most unkind.

I know I shouldn't feel this way,
I wish no one ill will.
But I am jealous just the same,
I swallow a bitter pill.

Jealousy is an awful thing,
it eats you up inside.
A hard emotion to control,
no matter how I've tried.
