My faith lies in...

Those Who Guard My Heart

I have faith in family,
for me, they are always there.
When I feel down and troubled,
they'll respond because they care.

Most will write of faith in God,
 trust in Him to see them through.
And I believe in God as well,
but there's questions I have too.

Does He hear me when I pray?
there're many to listen to.
When sadness overwhelms me,
just what is it He can do?

My family, if I call them,
they will show up quick for me.
I can feel them when they touch me,
God, I can not hear or see.

So family is my anchor,
it's where my faith must lie.
With me through the happy times,
  with me when it's time to cry.

I wish just once I'd see God,
is that really wrong of me?
To have faith in those I can touch,
 not in who I cannot see?

Don't get me wrong,  I believe,
God's here for me with a plan.
But family is where my faith lies,
I think He will understand.
