What Jesus Christ Fought For

Jane is six years old, and she heard about Jesus her entire life. She wonders what he has fought for and why did they crucify him.
"Dad, what did Jesus Christ fight for?" Jane asked.
"He fought for our eternal salvation, which means our freedom," Dad responded.
"Why did they crucify him?" she asked.
"That is an excellent question because of religious issues. Someday you will understand," Dad answered.
"I love him," Jane said.
"He loves us all," Dad responded.
