Happy Beach Day!

Today is beach day, it will be lots of fun
to swim in the ocean and sit in the sun.
With shovels and pails, sandcastles we'll make,
water and sand built, that's all it will take.

Mom brought along sandwiches and fruit to eat,
and freshly baked cookies for a special treat.
We'll look for some shells that we'll put on display,
as seagulls above scream out, "Have a good day!"

A stand is selling ice-cream down the way,
strawberry's the flavor that I'll get today.
It melts really fast and it's messy a bit,
but that's okay because we really love it.

It's rumored a treasure is buried quite near,
I'm sure we will find it if it's really here.
Then we'll share its bounty with our family,
Oh, what an exciting time that will be!

We'll lay out a blanket, beach umbrella too,
and when we get tired, the day almost through...
We'll rest for a while in the cool ocean breeze,
we'll all be as happy as clams if you please.

Beach day in summer, it's the best thing we do!
