Converse with a Heart

by Gypsy Blue Rose

In Honor of the Victims of the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting

summer breeze meanders
through the school yard —

storm of shots break the silence

The AR-15 is not meant for hunting or "sport" meant to kill lots of people all at once. A modified AR-15 can fire 400 rounds per minute or more. 18 years old, and older, can buy it at stores and online. In America, there were 45,222 in deaths in 2020. an increase of 43% from the prior decade. There are many YouTube videos teaching how to use it and modify it. We need gun control laws as soon as possible. We shouldn't wait until the next school shooting.

Matthew McConaughey ( native of Uvalde, Texas ) was in Washington, D.C., to call on lawmakers to address gun control and to share details of the 21 victims who died in the shooting. One of those victims was 10-year-old Maite Rodriguez. A lover of animals and the environment, she dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. She often wore a pair of green (her favorite color) high-top Converse shoes with a heart drawn in marker over her right toes. Maite was one of the victims of the school shooting. The pair of green converse with a heart was the only way to identify her. if you like, click here for additional information

SENRYU/MODERN is about human nature and it doesn't include a season word (kigo). It's written in one to four lines with no strict syllable count, but brief. These poems use a pause usually marked by a dash before the satori (an insightful twist to ponder). Alliteration and metaphor are okay. Never rhymes. the em-dash ( -- ) is used to emphasize an interruption in speech before the satori. Senryu usually doesn't have a title but in fanstory we have to have one.for more information click here collection of senryu ***** The Haiku Foundation of America

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my poem.
