Finding love together.

My World Came Aglow

by LisaMay

Tell me, why is it wrong to want to belong
and to share the sweet joy that love brings,
not dodging hate’s arrows and slings?

They told me: “You’re queer!
We don’t want you here;
You are bent and our world is straight.”
They trampled on love with their hate.
I was feeling alone,
my poor heart turned to stone.
Without love I would wither and die,
but my true self I couldn’t deny.
As time moved along I learnt to be strong.

Now your love I just cannot let go.
When I met you my world came aglow.
It took nerves at first, but it grew.
This attraction between us, we knew,
would bind us for life, as wife and wife.
We made a pact and our love is a fact.
With a touch of your hand I know you understand,
and the promise between us we share
will show just how much both of us care.

To fall in love is a gift from above
and Our Lord knows what’s deep in our hearts.
We are more than the sum of our parts.
