The life of a poem
goes beyond words,
it has rhyming patterns,
sometimes it can be free verse,
or be complex like a kind
of an intricate style of poetry.

Being a poem isn't easy,
sometimes they win,
or they lose in writing contests,
it brings tremendous patience
and pressure to gain first place.

It has a way of expressing itself,
it can be happy or sad,
it is a different animal,
treat it right, and you'll
get your reward.

I have stanzas or verses,
all of my lines convey meaning, 
I may be formatted into many shapes.
