America is a country in turmoil, but she is still great..
America’s my homeland, the place of my birth
She’ll always be to me, the grandest place on Earth.
Pilgrims seeking freedom, descended on her shores
They dreamed she’d continue, a land of open doors.
Freedom isn’t easy, and people fought and died
Those who choose to be here salute her flag with pride
This nation can’t elect, a man who serves with greed
Country has to come first because that is our creed
Of course, we’re not perfect, and we’re prone to find fault
Some will claim our leaders are barely worth their salt.
Majorities must choose, but losers will protest
Always the assumption, their opinion is the best
If people only learned to travel with the flow
The party they support, next term controls the show
If we look for evil, we’ll see it all around.
There’s nothing new out there, that's likely to be found.
Why should we criticize, not having all the facts?
Our enemies are pleased; triumphant in attacks.
Putting down our country has always been a fad.
We should work to save her; condemning her is sad.
There’s never been a time, when everything was great.
Better we should praise her, than moan about her fate.
Leaders of two parties may often disagree
Compromise is called for in order to stay free.
Danger’s always lurking from those who would divide
Survival means putting, all our differences aside
People must exercise the right to cast a vote
Freedom of elections will keep our land afloat
Democracy, I pray, continues still to thrive
A nation united, with freedom will survive
America’s my home, the country of my birth.
As long as I'm alive, I'll always praise her worth.
