Sweet Sally Silver

Kiddies motivational poem Contest Winner 
Sweet Sally Silver likes to roam,
but never ventures far from home.
As curious as she can be,
looking to see what she can see.

She saw her cat Kate in the yard,
chasing a bee, it seemed quite hard
to catch! It flew so fast and high,
then disappeared up in the sky.

Sally laid by the garden fence,
to her, the clouds did not make sense.
How did they stay up, never fall?
So curious about it all.

Why do some birds fly, others walk?
Just why, can't her sweet cat Kate, talk?
And dogs too must have things to say,
she pondered on that half the day.

Why do the stars just shine at night,
and days only, the sun shines bright?
Sally was curious it's true,
so many things she wished she knew.

One day, no doubt, these things she'll know,
but mom called her, she had to go.
Mom made the best dinner of all,
spaghetti with a big meatball!

Sweet Sally Silver went to bed,
so many thoughts were in her head.
Again, tomorrow she would roam,
but never venture far from home.
