A free verse poem about God.

Who Do You Say I am?

by davisr (Rhonda)

Who is God?

A thought or Idea, antiquated by millenia of scientific discoveries?

An outdated belief, a mythical someone to run to when life has no recovery?

A judge sitting on his golden throne, waiting for someone to mess up?

Our Sovereign King, ordering us about like so many hapless pups?

Or is He something more, someone with gentle care?

A tender Father who watches over His children unaware?

The giver and sustainer of life with everlasting bliss?

The Way, the Truth and the Life no one can miss?

God said to Moses in Exodus, I Am Who I Am.

Is that enough, His son the Lamb?

His Divine Spirit a dove?

Or simply put by John, God is Love.

In Matthew, Jesus says, But who do you say I am?

In the end, we all have questions to ask and a decision to make.

As for me and my house, we serve the Lord.
