I Don't Intend To

I had never heard this line
Come from a woman of strength.
Weakness was now the rule
It measured without error.

I don't intend to!
Is a child's answer
when one has been hurt
And kindness has become lost.

I wish you the very best!
Lends itself rather easily
To avoid the challenge
Of making the right choice.

Failure will always be part of life
Recognition is the pain we live with
and joy becomes the resolve
As forgiveness is an act of love.
