I believe in Myself

For My Dad

by Raul1

I used to be insecure
about who I wanted to be,
when I grew up,
my dad helped me to learn to believe in myself.

It was hard at first,
but, little by little.
I kept on believing
in what my dad mentioned.

I thought of the little engine
that could,
believing in itself.

It started working.
I began practicing writing,
and taking writing classes.

I became more confident with myself,
I became a successful writer.
I feel most secure when
writing stories and poetry.
They come naturally.

Anything is possible.
My success is all thanks to my dad
for his support and encouragement.
Now, I believe I can take on the world in life,
and with my writing.
