The kaleidoscope of days
Colours and patterns
by Wendy G
My dog is my alarm clock. After meeting his needs, I look into my daily kaleidoscope, the coloured beads representing my activities.
Housework pattern! No! Rotate it again.
Shopping? Don't buy anything more! Turn.
Gardening. Up-to-date. No more plants!
Next: prayer time. Remember: attitude of thankful gratitude, others’ needs, mine for forgiveness (being unloving).
More patterns – beautiful and bright. Grandchildren today? Dog walks, meeting friends for coffee, thinking of my next story?
Rotate it again: FS writing, reviews, responses – a happy intricate pattern, one of my favourites.
Finally – preparing meals. Nutritious, remember diet. Chocolate's not a meal!

Now, I don't literally use a kaleidoscope of course - that's just a metaphor! But the activities are all real and true! Different patterns of activities through the day, some bright and attractive, others less pleasing, but necessary.
The coloured beads of the kaleidoscope have been represented by the font colours.
