Half the Days Forgiveness

by DragonSkulls

Forgiveness Poem Contest Winner

I tell myself to let it go,
forgive the deeds they've done,
to see beyond the pain it's caused
from whence it first begun.

The impact breaks a spirit down
and stains in bitter ruse.
I ask myself if wrongs so harsh
are sins I dare excuse.

Perhaps it's only I that weeps
and wallows in disgust
'mid burdens of a shameful truth
that tarnish in unjust.

I witness as the masses watch,
and no one speaks a word,
a promise land where lesser find
forgiveness as absurd.

My words, I fear, are thrown aside
for few shall take account,
to weigh the options of their worth
and value their amount.

Forgiveness is an offering,
a gift I can't portray
until, unbiased, our site casts
these no win prompts away.

Sorry, I have to gripe. Half the week's prompts can't be joined by anyone who's won a contest in the last 30 days. That bothers me, especially when the no win contests are something I wish I could enter and the open to all contests are something lame like this. Lol. What can you do?

I can whine, at least. That's something I can do.
