Loving him is easy

Ever After

They say love is an illusion,
a mere mirage,
but you and I can prove them wrong,
each of us has half a heart.

They say those butterflies in your stomach
die after a year or two,
but you tell me you feel something sweet
when I run towards you.

Every day is an adventure
because I share the world with you.
You make housework seem exciting,
that's how much I love you.

We share kids, we share a home,
we share a car and two pets.
And when we hold hands, we share
our private corner of the universe.

I always pray to go before you,
I cannot be on my own.
God will listen to me for sure,
or my screams will shake his throne.

In the afterlife together,
we will walk hand in hand.
I'll be able to relax
knowing that we'll never be torn apart.
