A Love Story for the Ages

Who Loves Me as Much as I Do

by Tom Horonzy

The author has placed a warning on this post for sexual content.

I looked in the mirror
and what did I see
but the prettiest guy
that resembled me.

Tall, dark, and handsome,
self-indulgent and alluring,
worth a king's ransom
for he's eternally enduring.

No ego problems, do I see
in being jovial and carefree
for they fit his personality
much as they do me.

Then, my bride walks in,
asking, "What are you doing?"
So, I introduced my double
to see the two start wooing.

Wondering, what I should do
is when my partner-in-crime smiled
and mimed, inquiring if I would allow
the missus to explore a new lifestyle?

That stirred anger in me, and I answered
"Hell, no. She is mine, and mine alone,"
realizing she is the only other person
who loves me as much as I do myself.

I took her hand, snapped off the light
leaving the guy in the dark by himself,
and here you thought this tale
would have a different ending,
didn't you? Not a chance!

Love writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem about something or someone you love.

I may be amorous, but I wouldn't be stupid. What if she liked him better than me. I am not one who takes chances, even when the story is completely fictional. Besides, how would the character come from behind the glass?
This is written with the intent to be humorous. No ill intent intended.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
