I'd like to share a morning prayer from Dr. Stanley
A Morning Prayer

It's been awhile since I've shared anything. I've sat down several times with an idea that didn't come to fruition. I don't want to write something just to be writing. Your time and mine is too precious to waste reading something that is just words.
With that said, please don't think that the next time I write anything here that it will be mind blowing or will change the course of world events though. Far be it from me to have that kind of impact.
I know for myself that there is so much to read at times that it can be overwhelming. Reading a poem or story on Fan Story should leave us better afterwards, perhaps with some food for thought, or an uplifting feeling or an education about something we didn't know before. At the very least I think we should be entertained.
With that in mind, I hope that I'm not breaking any rules here. I'm sure I've read them sometime back, I just can't recall what I read. I would like to share a morning prayer written by Dr. Charles Stanley of In Touch Ministries. It's printed on a book mark that's tattered and worn, but the message is fresh every time I read it.
Father,
Thank you for this new morning and the privilege of beginning the day with You. As today unfolds, give me wisdom to handle every situation I encounter. Let my speech be seasoned with grace and my thoughts pleasing to you. I'm grateful to know that regardless of where this day takes me, You will be right there with me. There is no shortage of good things in your presence.
Help me to live with my mind set on things above so that Your light would shine in my life and Your name would be glorified.

This is a prayer that I wish I could say that I pray every day, but I don't. Not because it's not great, I guess I just get in a hurry or perhaps I don't want it to lose it's meaning to me. I strongly believe that we should all start our day speaking to God. It struck me today that our time on earth may be the only time we'll ever have to impact what happens on this earth. Perhaps the problems that are rampant in society now are because we aren't doing the one thing that can have the most impact on earthly situations. Never doubt the power of prayer. God knows we could all use some help.
