Your heart and mind go into shock
As words from a bully's mouth
Ooze, thickening the ocean to
Quicksand, drawing you under
A layer of scum bleeds into your
Psyche almost making you believe
Their words could be true

Although you want to cry, you lock
Away the tears, pushing them behind walls
That hide the sad fact that
Each unkind syllable uttered
Is cheating you of the life and
Happiness you should have been
Well acquainted with

Once you realize this, the
Wall crumbles and frees the tears
Letting them cleanse the soul
Giving you knowledge that only
You know who and what you are
And others can't ever change that
