My Loving Father

My Father Contest Winner 


My father's love was unconditional
Acceptance with warm kindness daily
When he spoke to me I deeply knew
The gentle words were straight from his heart

When I graduated from sixth grade
Below are the words he sweetly said
I cherish these words as I reflect
Remembering them when life gets rough

Always strive to do well as you learn
To become a success in your life
Maintain your faith, staying close to God
In order to face strife and hardships

I never thought life would become hard
As I ponder on my father's words
Life did get hard, there was pain and strife
His words of wisdom helped me go on
