Our Faith Renews

by Dawn Munro

Our Faith Renews

My faith was lost, adrift in seas of doubt,
no longer sure what life was all about,
when fluttered into view, a butterfly -
a fleck of yellow sun in gloomy sky

as if Almighty God held out His hand
releasing joy to flit across His land!
And suddenly I knew my foolish angst
had rooted with neglect of giving thanks.

So now as daylight beckons me outside,
I rise to dress, though first, on knees bedside
I offer grateful heart for each sweet morn,
and thanks to God that I was ever born,

for life is just perception, and our views
are altered with His help, and faith renews.
