The M&M War

by prettybluebirds

Thunk! Something hit me in the back of my head. I looked over my shoulder, but everyone seemed quiet. I thought my sister-in-law, Mary, was trying too hard to look innocent, though. I decided to forget it and continued to watch the bride and groom dance the opening dance.

Smack! An M&M almost knocked my glasses off. That time I caught her in the act. Mary used a teaspoon to launch M&Ms and peanuts in my direction. There were little dishes of candy and peanuts on each table in front of the guests, that was where Mary got her ammo.

"Okay, two can play this game," I thought. I picked up my teaspoon and shot a couple of peanuts in Mary's direction. One got stuck in her ear, while the other peanut bounced off her nose. "Take that," I snickered.

Mary retaliated with two M&Ms and a peanut; she meant business.

I reloaded my teaspoon and fired a couple more M&Ms, but just then, my brother, John, leaned forward to say something to Mary. One M&M hit him square in the eye and the other ricocheted and hit my older sister, Carol. You might say, the shit hit the fan then. Neither John nor Carol found anything humorous about the situation. The two of them immediately called a cease fire or else, on our M&M war. Spoilsports.
