Growing up.
Reality Check
by Heather Knight
When I was little, I was very curious.
'Mum, are fairies real?' I asked one day.
'Of course not, Pegasus,' Mum answered rolling her eyes.
I hated it when Mum rolled her eyes. I knew she was thinking I was stupid.
Now I'm older, I know fairies are just fabrications, but I try to be kind to my children when they ask about them.
Yesterday, my youngest told me to come to see an elf in the garden.
'Why don't we go for a trip instead?' I said to change the subject. And off we flew into the sky.
