Haiku Club Challenge #6 Flowers

A chapter in the book Haiku Club Challenges, Book II

haibun (dead flowers)

by Gypsy Blue Rose

It has been months since my depression took over my life. Long days run into short nights of nothingness, the saying, “killing time” comes to mind.  I watch the clock hoping bedtime comes quickly so I can stop thinking and can sleep for a few hours. When I wake up my first thought is, oh God another day of emptiness.  I repeat the old mantra in my mind….  'I will get better'.  I hold on to hope like a baby holds on to her mother’s finger…. for dear life.
