Halloween Treats

I opened my door and four little children yelled, "Trick
or Treat!"
"Oh my, look how scary you all are. I guess I better
give up the candy." I looked up at the parents on the
sidewalk and waved. "The candy's right in that room."
I pointed to a room, just off the hallway, that had a
purple light glowing. They ran inside for their rewards.
I turned and gave the parents a sinister grin, then slammed
the front door shut. With the children in the room, I locked
them there. I hurried to the far end of the hallway and watched
the frightened parents come running in. When all five were
through the door, I yanked the lever down to the trap floor.
One side of the hallway floor let loose, dropping them to the
basement, where I had lines and rows of four foot metal spikes
waiting to catch them.
I pushed the lever back, shut the front door, turned off the lights
and went downstairs. I knelt by the couple people still alive, who
clearly wouldn't be for long, and said, "I just wanted to thank you
for my Halloween treats...I'm sure they'll be delicious."
