Question contest entry

A Sister's Betrayal (a sonnet)

by DragonSkulls

Question Contest Winner
Might trust be what we base this love upon?
Behind your blessed queen our secrets masked.
And shall I reign in whole when she is gone?
Will death befall her fate as I have asked?

Would kingdoms burn to ash at my request?
Will knights lay down their lives in sacrifice?
Before me now, let thy own tongue confess.
For fraudulence might witness bitter price.

But know that I shall love thee, precious Sire.
Allow the reaper's claim on Sister's life.
I'll fill your every need with dark desire.
Might thou beseech his mistress for his wife?

The lack of depth you seek would be unwise.
Is trust a merit seen within mine eyes?
