Open Door Policy

by Willie P. Smith

Enter through my door,
Where all logic ends.
Remain and talk awhile
Where total chaos begins.

Ask me any question
And I will do my best.
I may not know the answer
But you will know no less.

Feel free to give your opinion,
Don't ever be afraid to complain.
Just say the things I want to hear
Or don't ever bother me again.

I hope our little talk has helped you,
I hope I made myself clear.
But, if you wanted to be less confused,
Why the hell did you come in here.

Writing Prompt
Write a poem of any type that treats a serious subject as humor.

I made the mistake of falling for the "Open Door" policy when I was Sergeant on motorcycles, for the San Diego Police Department. I entered
my Lieutenants office to complain about the motorcycles the Department was purchasing. Other Departments were using the same motorcycle and had reported them unsafe. I received a big butt chewing and never
tried their policy again. When I left his office, I wrote this poem.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
