Long lost friend

Crissy

by Boogienights

My Crissy Doll!
Now, some of you will not know what I mean.
But in the '60s, she was the cutest doll I'd ever seen.
She had the prettiest face on her, a lacy orange dress,
orange shoes to match as well, fell in love with her I guess.
The greatest thing about her (In case you didn't know)
was her beautiful red hair, with a knob to make it grow!
With just a push and gentle pull, her short hair than would grow.
Then back to short with a few turns, quite wonderous, I know.

It was 1968 when my Crissy came to be.
How Santa knew to bring her was a mystery to me.
From the many times, I played with her, great memories I have.
But then I lost her when we moved, it made me feel so bad.
Five hundred miles separated my Crissy doll from me.
I think that time in '69, was the saddest it could be.

Though years passed by, I thought about my lovely red-haired doll.
I told the story to my girls, about her, they knew all.
Then one memorable Christmas, I opened a gift to see,
my lovely red-haired Crissy doll, smiling at me.
I'd never thought that there was hope, I'd hold her close to me.
Yet, here she was, in perfect shape.
How could this even be?

Little did I know...
That anything you want to get,
is only a few clicks away, waiting on the internet.
A miracle called eBay has turned my world around.
So many childhood things I miss, on eBay, can be found.

Of course, it's not the same doll I had when I was nine.
But she is perfectly exact and makes me feel so fine.
What is special about Crissy 2, is that she was given with love.
From my own beautiful red-head girl, God sent me from above.
