Woodland Fairy

Marietta

by Boogienights

Marietta, lovely fairy
dancing with such sweet delight.
Wearing shoes made out of silver,
outshines all the stars at night.

Marietta, lovely fairy
can you teach me how to fly?
We can play among the treetops,
a game of hide and seek up high.

Marietta, lovely fairy
what troubles you and makes you cry?
When you weep, you water flowers,
that never wilt as time goes by.

Marietta, lovely fairy
how can it be, you tore your wing!
Let me sew it with my silk thread,
so once again you'll sweetly sing.

Marietta, lovely fairy
like a dream you make your way.
Flip the switch that makes the moon glow,
hold up the sun throughout the day.

Marietta, lovely fairy
with glowing eyes and flowing hair.
Are you real or just imagined?
When I reach out will you be there?

Marietta, lovely fairy
please close your eyes and rest with me.
Then take me when away you fly,
across the mountains and over the sea.
