A chapter in the book The Inn at Blackpool

Bootsie and Nigel

by Stu Harrell

We was a wonderin' Bootsie
What become of Nigel Dear
Was he busted up a dancin'?
With his tummy full of beer

Dear Nigel pledged to practice
And lo the fool he were
Far from his Dear Bootsie
A fumble away from her

Now Nigel is in rehab
His heart is broke from sound
Upon the wings of fairies
He done danced into the ground

Ole Bootsie cheered him on
With popcorn suit be quick!
He couldn't see the floor my dears
When the popcorn hit the brick

But Nigel is ever faithful
And to his dears be true
For in the Dancing Showcase
He always comes through for you
