Despite the pain...
Still Loving Life by Boogienights

I knew one day that I'd grow old,
my hair would gray, my eyesight dim.
I knew glasses I'd someday wear,
my body wouldn't stay so trim.

And all that would've been okay,
but my body has turned on me.
Arthritis struck, now I can't walk,
without someone assisting me.

I cried the day that I found out,
a diabetic I'd become.
And now I have a failing heart,
I wish this all could be undone.

I envy those older than me,
who walk and run, they are so free.
This freedom that I dream about,
I fear that I will never see.

So all my pain, I put into
these lines, it somehow helps me cope,
and sometimes I have better days,
the pain subsides and gives me hope.

I know I'm not the only one,
that many suffer just like me.
Their bodies turned on them as well,
trapped by their pain, they can't get free.

Yet, still I'm blessed by what I have,
a weak heart that still fills with love.
A loyal family that protects,
and guidance that comes from above.

I won't give up, and still I fight,
I won't let pain decide my fate.
There's so much life that's left to live,
and heaven will just have to wait.
