A poem for my wife of 38 years
Let Loose Your Auburn Hair by Frank Jauregui
10 Line Poem writing prompt entry

And if I awaken to my sleep
 Let loose your auburn hair.
Look for me there amongst the trees
Their leaves shall dance at my arrival
And cloaked in green
My heart, forever stirring chimes
Will sing to you of love, my love
Lost to this world but by the wind remembered.
If I should…, sweet love, awaken to my sleep
Let loose your auburn hair!

Writing Prompt
Write a poem of any type. But it should have a total of 10 lines.

Author Notes
I still remember when I first fell in love with my beautiful wife of 38 years. I was awestruck by how the sun shone upon her hair that day. I had never seen such beautifully colored, auburn hair in my life! The years have passed and though her hair has somewhat changed in hue and has grown a little gray, I will always see her as that young beauty with the stunningly, beautiful auburn hair. I thought, if the day would come that I should pass before her, I'd hope she would remember my never ending love for her, not by mourning the memory of our love but by letting loose her gorgeous, auburn hair!
