I remember '69.
That little face
so like mine.
I'd longed for this day
my whole life through
to hold my child,
so perfect, so new.
The love I felt,
hard to explain.
Worth every bit
of anxiety and pain.
I just stared and stared
At my precious boy
feeling such
overwhelming joy.
This beautiful child
that I'd always longed for
was now in my arms
I could never want more.
I vowed to protect
this little one
forever until my days
were done.
I was so happy,
thankful and glad.
This was the best moment
I'd ever had.
