Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying
Sally's Jukebox Hits #37 by Sally Law

Welcome to my Jukebox Hits! I'm counting down my all-time favorites from 50 to 1.

At # 37 is 'Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying' by Gerry and the Pacemarkers. There is not a song by this British group I don't love.

Today is a double good, twofer offering in my countdown, and a birthday wish for our dear Father Flaps. Happy Birthday, Kim! (This just happens to be one of Kimbob's favorite songs.)

This song speaks of heartbreak, and the tears that follow a breakup and soak the pillow. I'm sure we can all relate to this one. This song will take you back, I guarantee it. It's also a reminder the sun does come up, eventually, and life goes on; love often appearing on the other side.

I'm adding another hit in here, my personal 'go to' when I'm upset or lonely: 'You'll Never Walk Alone.' I feel these two songs go hand-in-hand for obvious reasons.

Now give a listen, if you can, to both of these. And don't forget to wish Father Flaps a happy birthday. His wonderful prose and poetry can be seen here: https://www.fanstory.com/displaystory.jsp?hd=1&id=1009003

{Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying}

Don't let the sun catch you cryin'
The night's the time for all your tears
Your heart may be broken tonight
But tomorrow in the morning light
Don't let the sun catch you cryin'
The night-time shadows disappear
And with them go all your tears
For the morning will bring joy
For every girl and boy
So don't let the sun catch you cryin'
We know that cryin's not a bad thing
But stop your cryin' when the birds sing
It may be hard to discover
That you've been left for another
But don't forget that love's a game
And it can always come again
Oh don't let the sun catch you cryin'
Don't let the sun catch you cryin', oh no
Oh, oh, oh

{You'll Never Walk Alone}

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

Hitcher requested this version. Very moving from the fans of Liverpool football after the Hillsborough Disaster.
