We lay our blanket on the sun warmed sand,
as sailboats on blue-green water glide.
Warm winds caress us, scents born of the sea,
a sand crab scurries, finds a place to hide.
It burrow under shells spread on the sand,
as seagulls sing their cries just like they will.
A picnic with our favorite food awaits,
we eat, and soon of food we've had our fill.
The smile you give to me outshines the sun,
touch my skin, you thrill me like no other.
As stars blanket the sky our beach day wanes,
in the moonlight, close to one another.
As years pass by and time becomes a thief,
before the angels take our breath away,
we will recall the time our love began,
and once again, return to our beach day.
