mankind reached their goal
to step on the distant moon 
in the starry sky

over earth where boys and girls 
wish to become astronauts

"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." -- Neil Armstrong, the first astronaut on the moon.

EKPHRASTIC inspired by a picture or painting

KAIKAI is a Japanese comic poetry form, a linked form that developed into a more serious form in the 17th century under the influence of MATSUO BASHO. Eventually, it became HAIKU. The form is 5/7/5/7/7 stanza that can be repeated if you like. click here for more information --
